Monthly favourites!|July 2017

july 2017

Hi my lovelies, I hope you are enjoying the sun. Not very often we get to see it here in the UK! In this post I will show you a selection of my most used/favourite products for July. I think they are perfect for the summer season.

aloe water

L’OREAL Hydra Genius Aloe Water- £6.66

This re-hydrating liquid moisturizer leaves the face and neck with a natural glow and soft feeling. You apply it day and night and can apply either alone or with a serum. However, I tend to use it on a morning because it makes my face feel refreshed and ready for the day. You only need to use one pump as a little goes a long way with this. It is water like texture but doesn’t leave the face feeling sticky as it sinks into the skin and doesn’t leave it looking oily. I think its great to apply before makeup as it’s very lightweight.  The smell for some reason reminds me of sun cream and holidays so it’s just perfect for summer, I took it on holiday with me and it just made my skin feel so cool and refreshing.

Clarins Paris- Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster: £17.60

I LOVE this product! I bought it on the plane coming back from Cape Verde and for the price I paid I was expecting a bigger bottle as it’s only 15ml. However, you only need to add 1, 2 or 3 drops depending on the intensity and I only use it every other day so i think it will last awhile (I’m hoping anyway). You add the drops to your day or night cream or both and massage it into your hands then apply to the face and neck. Make sure you wash your hands straight after! (You don’t want to be walking round with brown hands). It leaves such a lovely natural bronzed glow on your face, i don’t even have to wear any foundation with it. It’s odorless so it doesn’t have that biscuit self tanning smell (You all know what i mean) and it has a softening aloe Vera extract in.

No7 Skin Illuminator: £12.50 skin illminator

This skin illuminator is used to enhance your complexion and give it a natural glow. You can buy it in two different shades, nude (the one in the image) and bronze. I usually apply it before my foundation after I’ve applied my moisturiser, I always apply with a foundation brush to give it a nice even finish on the skin. It’s a very lightweight, silky moisturiser and creates a beautiful sheen on the skin. It can be applied without any foundation as it’s not dramatic and looks natural, unlike illuminators that you add to the cheekbones and nose. It’s perfect for summer because you don’t need foundation but can have that beautiful, shimmer glow.

jimmy choo

Jimmy Choo Blossom: £23.75

This perfume is lush. It has such a strong, fruity/flowery scent and is just the perfect smell for summer time. Every time I wear this perfume people ask me what I am wearing as it is strong and they always compliment its fruity smell.  I think it stays on the skin for quite a long time too compared to other perfumes. I also love the bottle design (Bonus!) it has a ombre of white and pink and the lid looks like a diamond.

Morphe 12s: Soul Of Summer Palette-£14.95

This palette is gorgeous the colours are so shimmery and are just perfect for summer. I got this last year and i would say it was my favorite then and still is now. I love the Morphe palettes because they are very affordable and they are so pigmented and blend out well. The sparkles show really well too. One of my naked palettes has some sparkly eye shadows in it but i have to wet the brush for the sparkles to show. There is a range of browns, golds, creams, orange, one blue and one burgundy one (That is defiantly my favorite!) they create a beautiful smokey finish.

MAC Cosmetics: Antique Velvet Lipstick- £16.50

I bought this lipstick in the airport a few week back, it’s such a stunning colour. It’s a really intense matte brown. I prefer dark lipsticks to light ones. I wouldn’t say it’s a great daytime summer lipstick due to it being dark (I still wear it though) it would look perfect on a summer evening though with a nice shimmery, smokey eye. The lipstick tends to stay on for quite awhile, it only really rubs off when you eat or drink (For me that’s all the time) and the colour when on the lips is very intense and dramatic, i LOVE it! Its also very creamy and moisturising on the lips, some matte lipsticks i have tried in the past have dried the lips out and made the lipstick look as though it’s cracking (Not a good look).

I hope this blog post was helpful and you go try out my monthly favorite products. Thank you so much for reading and supporting my blog!

Love, Caitlin
