Hello lovelies, I recently did a post about my Glossier skincare haul and I mentioned that I had also done one at Cult Beauty and that I would do a separate post. So, the moment you have all been waiting for…. my skincare haul at Cult Beauty.

Have you ever ordered from Cult Beauty? I have made 1 order before when I lived at my mum’s old house. I accidentally sent my most recent parcel to the old house like a divvy and then had to get in touch with my mum’s old neighbours to ask if I can get Hermes to take it there instead. It ended up getting lost and I was refunded and was very sad and annoyed at myself as I just wanted to try out my new products! I am so impatient when it comes to parcels.
Anyway, I ended up ordering the products again but ended up adding more to my order so my bank wasn’t too happy with me but I had to have the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation. I created a makeup look using this and WOW, my skin looked fab and the coverage was amazing. I will be posting the makeup look on my Instagram soon. Follow me and don’t miss it.
My skin type is usually combination and I get spots on my chin when my period is due or when I am feeling stressed or low. I do not have sensitive skin.
Product – 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant Salicylic Acid
Purpose – Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) acts as an exfoliant, increasing the shedding of dead skin. Salicylic Acid is an oil-soluble and gets right into the skin and breaks down what is known as ‘glue’ which causes breakouts and oily, uneven skin! Basically, it helps if you suffer from blemishes, spots or acne.
How to use – Use once or twice daily, apply over face and neck and do not rinse. I apply to my hands and then add to the areas where spots develop. I only use it on a morning and it is the second step in my morning skincare routine, after my cleanser.
Review – Okay, so you have to be patient with this product. It will first make your skin ‘purge’. This is because the product is doing its job and is renewing your skin. This usually lasts around a month, I am still in that process. I have had more breakouts than usual but I am trusting the process as I have heard so many great reviews about this product. It is not harsh on the skin and didn’t sting when I first tried it, as mentioned above I don’t have sensitive skin.
Product – Lactic Acid 10%+HA
Purpose – Lactic Acid is in the Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) group. AHA exfoliates the skin, stimulates collagen and glycosaminoglycans formation. Lactic acid is derived from milk, it works to dissolve ‘glue’ in between cells on the surface. It is great for dull, dehydrated or dry skin.
How to use – Apply once per day. Ideally in the PM. Can be diluted with other treatments to reduce strength until skin develops tolerance. I use this product 3x a week on an evening, I apply to my hands and rub all over the face and neck. I use this after my evening double cleanse.
Review – I have used Lactic Acid before and really enjoy using it. I have some slight sun damage on my cheek and it has really helped fade it. It did sting a little when I first used it but it doesn’t at all now. Fab product, I highly recommend it.
The Inkey List
Product – Niacinamide
Purpose – Niacinamide is also known as B3. It is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help minimise pores, improve uneven skin tones, soften fine lines, and strengthen a weakened surface.
How to use – Use AM and PM. On cleansed skin apply a pea-sized amount to face and neck. I use this on evenings when I haven’t used lactic acid. I apply a small amount to my hands and rub on my face and neck. This is used after I have applied my eye cream and before my moisturiser.
Review – I love this product. A little goes a long way and it helps again with dull-looking skin. My skin looks brighter and healthier.
